Pasadena Community Church Pre-School

I am Ms. Cindy, White Dot lead teacher. I have been at PCCS teaching two-year-olds since January 2007. I worked as a three
year old teacher in 2001 for two years. I then was a nanny for a year. I then became a two-year- old teacher again before
moving here to Florida. In Massachusetts I earned a two year degree in Early Childcare Education. I am a mother of three
and a grandmother.
My name is Mary Tapp. I have been part of the PCCS family for almost three years. I teach the young two’s in
White Dot. I started teaching in 1997, where I worked with young two’s for many years until I started having a
family of my own. I continued as a substitute teacher but primarily was a stay at home mom. I am currently a
student at St. Pete College, where I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
My name is Ms. Ursula. I am a new teacher in Aqua Dot and this is my first year here at PCCS. I have five previous
years of experience working with two-year-olds. I am a mother of two boys, a 10 year old and a 16 month old. We
enjoy family vacations and we are very involved in church and community activities. I look forward to working for
this wonderful school and the many opportunities it will bring me to be involved with the families and children that
we serve.
My name is Ms. Marli and I work with older twos and three- year- olds. I’ve worked with toddlers through
kindergarten. I’ve been a teacher since 1981 when I completed my Child Development Associates in Brazil. I
worked 5 years in a Maria Montessori school. I also spent 2 years as a pre-k teacher. I completed my Bachelor of
Arts degree in foreign language education in 1996 in Brazil. The next 3 years I taught English to children from pre-
k through adults. I completed my A.S. degree in Hospitality in 2003. Last year I achieved my National CDA. I’m
about to finish my A.A. in Early Childhood Education at SPC. I’ve been at PCCS for 4 years and love teaching in
Orange Dot.
My name is Ms. Michelle I received my BA in psychology in 1998 from Florida International University located in
Miami. I moved to St. Petersburg shortly after and began working at Pasadena Community Church School a year
later. I worked with the 2’s and the Pre-K class and taught Spanish to the children enrolled in the elementary
program. In 2004, I was asked to be a part of a wonderful organization, The Haven of RCS that allowed me to
become a PEACEMAKER. A peacemaker is one who travels to all schools in Pinellas County, teaching children
peaceful ways to resolve conflict, ways to keep themselves safe, and lessons that teach them to respect and
protect the environment. I also served as a women’s advocate at The Haven’s Shelter in the evenings. This
position allowed me to work directly with families that had escaped an abusive situation. It allowed me to help
them achieve their goals once they regained their security in The Haven’s temporary housing.
I am blessed to have 2 wonderful children (ages 3 and 6), a terrific husband whom I have been married to for 8
years and a crazy Basenji puppy named Oobie. We spend our free time together and can usually be found close to
the water either on the boat, at the beach, or at the pool. I’m glad to be back at Pasadena and look forward to the
adventurous year ahead with you and your family.
My name is Mrs. Williams. I have been teaching for over 35 years. While taking courses in Early Childhood
Education at SPJC and PTEC, I worked as an aide and substitute teacher at a variety of centers and with all ages
from twos through school age. Because of my years in the field, I was grandfathered into the CDA program, but I
continue to attend seminars and take classes. I worked at the Gingerbread Schools for 11 years, Bay Point
Christian Day Care as the Pre-K teacher for 13 years and at Kidz World. I presently work with the three-year-olds
and am delighted to be part of the PCCS family. This will be my third year here.
My name is Nicole Schultz. I have been at Pasadena Community Church Preschool since 1999. I am working
with the three year olds in Red Dot. I have my National CDA and I am continuing my education at St. Petersburg
College. I am originally from Germany where I received training in Early Childhood. Teaching is my passion and I
feel blessed to work at Pasadena and am looking forward to many more fun filled years.
My name is Dianne Fisher. The children call me Miss Dianne. I have been teaching pre-school in St. Pete since
1983. Previously I worked at Gingerbread for 18 years before moving on to St. Vincent’s and Kidz World. I am
now very happy to be a staff member here at PCCS for the past 4 years. I am currently an associate in Red Dot
with the 3’s turning 4. My education includes St. Pete College credits in early childhood education, a CDAE of
Florida, current first aid and CPR training, and I attend yearly seminars that fulfill state and county requirements.
My hobbies include being a fan of Florida State, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Tampa Bay Bucs, and all the precious
children at PCCS. Being a teacher has kept me “forever young”
Brenda Tuten…I have had a long and fulfilling career in the field of child care. I pride myself on my
professionalism and enthusiasm. I am certified as a Child Care Development Specialist by the Florida Department
of Labor and Employment Security. I have taught two year olds, threes and four year olds, as well as Science and
Art in a Kindergarten Program. I enjoy the three and four year olds the best. I started my teaching career at
Aldergate Preschool and Daycare Methodist Church in Seminole and was their afternoon assistant director until I
realized my daughter was putting in more hours then I was, so I went back to teaching. I worked at North East
Park Preschool for sixteen years before coming to Pasadena Community Church Preschool. I have worked for
PCCS for five years. I am CDA certified and a current student at St. Petersburg College.
Hello my name is Kate Kendrick. I am 22 years old and originally from New Jersey. This is my second year here at
PCCS. I have lived in Florida for the past 4 years. During that time I have attended St. Petersburg College. This past
pursuit of my Bachelors degree. My goal, eventually, is to become an elementary teacher. I am looking forward to
the great experience and opportunity here at PCCS, as an assistant teacher.
